And Now For Something Completely Different...

Well, once again it's my turn. Now isn't that nice?

Avi came over yesterday, both of us, for the lack of knowing what exactly to do, had lunch at my university, and then went to North York Centre to watch a movie. Of course, we thought we'd watch either Shaun of the Dead, or Shark Tale, but unfortunately, both were out! So we ended up going for The Grudge...

Um...don't watch it...totally pointless movie...

Anyway, after that we came back to my place, had dinner, and then went to play pool, as is I guess the norm... Ended the day at a score of Avi-12 Me-9 (continuing from the last time that he came over). Came back to my room, watched Airplane!, and after that, decided to go to sleep.

Well, at about 1:30am, since we both were still awake, talking to each other in the dark, I thought I might as well adjust the clock, since Daylight Saving is now over, and we're back to Eastern Standard Time here! It feels so weird! For the first time I'm experiencing a 25 hour day! So now the official time difference between here and Dubai is 9 hours, not 8 as it was before!

Anyway, finally we fall asleep, and woke the next morning at about 10am. Went to have breakfast, half the places were closed! Today being a Sunday AND Halloween! Get to see a whole lot of people dressed weird! Anyway, then I showed Avi Stong Pond, which is a Pond, as you can imagine...

Then, we came back, watched a little of Saturday Night Live which I had downloaded, played some more pool (Avi- 14, Me- 11) and then went for lunch. After lunch, Avi left for his place, and so I'm here...

And Now For Something Completely Different...

NOVEMBER 2ND IS ALMOST HERE!!!

Well well well... The American National Elections are upon us once again! Don't say you don't care, because whether you do or do not, it affects all of us! It's been so much like a Hollywood movie all this while, incredibly tight race! Who's going to win???

News of the Day:

Okay, there is a very strong chance that I might be able to come to Dubai earlier than what I previously said, so watch this space for updates!

Picture of the Day:

Stong Pond! Stong Pond...at York U!!!

A Note from Me:

I find it very very very very VERY hard to believe that all of you lead such boring lives that you find absolutely NOTHING to talk about on your posts. I mean, you post ONCE A WEEK for God's sake, and in all that time all you can say is "Well, I have nothing to say, nothing much happening here..."? I mean COME ON! Put some EFFORT into it! JEEZ!

Anyway, I shall take my leave now...

Till next time,
Take care and have fun!

Also, It's halloween time so the entire university is decorated with carved pumpkins and what not...
Ok....what else? There hasnt been a post in the past couple of days so where have u guys been?
Oh yea! Today is the last day of Day-Light savings time here so ill be changing my clocks, watches etc. one hr back tonite.... thats kinda exiting since i havent done anything like that before...
Anyways, since this has been such a boring post, let me add a joke here.... hope u guys havent heard it:

A lady bought a new $100,000 Mercedes and proudly drove it off the showroom floor to take home. Halfway home, she attempted to change radio stations and saw that there appeared to be only one station. She immediately turned around and headed back to the dealer.
Once at the dealer, she found her salesman and began to excitedly explain that her radio was not working, and they must replace it since she only had one radio station. The salesman calmed her down and told her that her car radio was voice-activated, and that she would only need to state aloud the type of music that she wanted and the car would find it.
She got into the car and started the engine and then said the word "country," and the radio changed to a station playing a George Strait song. She was satisfied and started home. After a while she decided to try out the radio and said "rock `n` roll;" the radio station changed and a song by the Rolling Stones came from the speakers. Quite pleased, the woman continued driving.
A few blocks from her house, another driver ran a light causing her to slam on her brakes to avoid a collision.
The woman angrily exclaimed, "Asshole!" ...The radio cut over to George Bush`s press conference.

Thats it from me guys

An extremely odd class...

I'd just like to start off saying that please don't be offended by the language I've used here, it was integral to the story I'm about to relate. I mean, we're all adults here, so please... Oh no wait, Ambreen, you're not...

Today I can safely say I had the weirdest class I have ever attended.

I had a Humanities class today, and the name of the course is 'The Concept of Male and Female in Western Civilisation'. Today's class was all about 'The Art of Courtly Love'.

So, basically we started off with what courtly love is all about, blah blah blah, and finally we get into why sex is the biggest threat to courtly love! Apparently, once you have sex with your beloved, according to the rules of courtly love at least, it diminishes the passion in the relationship! I'm not sure about this, so as soon as I find out, I shall tell you...unless any of you would like to tell me...

So anyway, we had this whole discussion regarding sex, and how men and women react when they find out how many people their beloved has slept with! So one girl put up the point that how when a guy sleeps with many girls, he's called a Pimp, which is not necessarily a bad thing to be called, as it shows a guy's power over women, and how if a woman were to sleep with many guys, she'd be called a slut, which is, well, derogatory! So it is a bias towards guys!

So, my Professor decides to hold an exercise!

"Let's do an exercise," says my Professor. "Let's see, how many curse words you can come with for the male sex, and for the female sex. Let's do male first."

So somebody says "Jerk!", and she writes it down on the board, somebody else says "Asshole!", and she writes 'A-hole', and then, somebody says "Prick!", and she writes it down. Soon, everybody's getting into the act, and words like "Cocksucker!" and the like start flying around, and she's STILL writing all these words on the board!

Then, the girl sitting next to me says, "Mother Fucker!", and she writes 'M-fucker'! Everybody starts laughing, and the Professor turns from the board, and takes a bow!

Well, then we went on females, and on of the guys says "Slut!", so she writes it. Then one guy very loudly shouts, "The C-word!", and she writes 'Cunt'! Somebody else shouts, "Can we take notes?!", and everybody's laughing and cheering and coming up with more curse words to put on the board!

Well, finally, we all looked at our handy-work, and analysed how the curse words for the male differed from the female.

But all that I remember is how the Professor wrote all the swear words on the board!
Just something I wanted to share with you all!

Till next time,
Take care and have fun!

Maria's Obsession

I really do like Mrs. Maria D'Silva.. I bet me ass that she likes me too .. a lot..
But today for the first time.. she embarassed me infront of everyone..
And she did it with her signature smile :-)

So here's the Inside Story:-
She was teaching us the Young's Slit Experiment.. yes yes its a slit!
and she kept on asking me like always.. "Faisal do u want me to repeat?", "Faisal did u get it" etc.. eventually she kept on repeating it to those who didn't understand so I started playing on my mobile (obviously hidden!) when she suddenly asks me "Faisal what happened u look constipated!" ...... it felt like an Atom bomb exploded on top of me.. everybody was quiet.. zubin laughed out loud.. then everybody followed.. and mohannad exploded!
EMBARASSMENT! ARGH! I was really pissed off at her.. but her smile was enough to calm me down..

NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!

aw man... i wrote this really nice post, and then i got disconnected, and now its disappeared!!!!!!!! argh!!!... i'm sorry, i'm just NOT going to write the whole thing again... sorry... will post again tomorrow or something, i really have to go now!!

Sorry for disappointing all my fans, i hope y'all understand...

And Now For Something Completely Different...

Once again it's Sunday, and so I'm posting earlier than I usually do, so that Ambreen doesn't rip my head off again...

Well, I just got off the phone with my parents, and now I'm wondering about what I should post about...?

Nothing really earth shattering has occured as such. There was a poster sale last week, so I went and got myself a couple of posters, my favourite being the map of 'Middle Earth' from Lord Of The Rings!

Classes are moving along smoothly, got a test at the end of this week in Social Science, so have to study for that!

Spent yesterday buying my printer. The salesmen, Sam, who's from Iraq, said he liked my cologne, and for a moment I felt a little freaked, but then I realised he really did like it, and wasn't trying to hit on me... Still, can't be too sure about stuff in this country.

Btw, I've been listening to a lot of Frank Sinatra all of a sudden. I don't really know why, I guess it's just a phase...

What else what else? I'm really hungry, so before I go get my lunch, I'd like to introduce you to something that I've come up with for my posts atleast. I call it:

And Now For Something Completely Different...

Joke Of The Day:

A bear and a rabbit are taking a dump next to each other. The bear asks the rabbit,

"Do you have a problem with shit sticking to your fur?"

The rabbit replies, "No I don't have such a problem!"

So the bear wipes his ass with the rabbit!

News Of The Day:

Least Competent Criminals
A man named Ian Fleming, 33, was arrested in September in New York City after he attempted to deposit bogus, computer-generated checks into his account at a Commerce Bank in Forest Hills, in the amounts of, respectively, $5 billion and $6 billion. Police said that the week before, Fleming had done a trial run by successfully depositing bogus checks in the amounts of $350 and $1,300 and thus probably felt he was ready to move on up. [New York Post, 9-19-04]

Film Of The Day:

The Usual Suspects

Starring: Kevin Spacey, Benicio Del Toro and so on...

Opinion: Nice movie, done well, very much like a 1940's Black & White Noir Film. Enjoyed it immensely!

Song Of The Day:

'The Way You Look Tonight' by Frank Sinatra.

Opinion: I can't help it, I like the song!

Picture Of The Day:

A man taking a leak. Let's see if any of you can actually recognise where this picture was taken!

i know you guys have been waiting eagerly for my posts, and were very disapointed when i failed to do so last friday.im sure, you're all very upset about it,and for that i apologise.

Blame it on the time-zone...

Aw man...whats this... every monday (MY DAY) i get to see IMRAN'S new post, and I dont have anything half as interesting to say... you're stealing my spotlight,Imran, you'd better watch out!!

Well nothing too greats been happening here... oh yeah, a belated Ramadan Kareem to everyone.. Ramadan timings at school are great, i'm home before 1 if theres not too much traffic... today i had only two classes of chemistry all day...thats it!!.. i had 4 classes free and then the other 2 were business, and mrs. chopra was absent ... oh btw theres a new business teacher, in place of mrs. nabila...Usha Fredricks... shes alright, i missed a few days of school earlier on so i dont really know her that well... apparently shes very easily distracted, and loves telling stories about her maid and her boyfriend... um, i mean the maid's boyfriend, not mrs. usha's.... jus in case u were wondering

for some reason she refers to me in third person all the time... sukaina was sitting next to me yeah, so mrs.usha comes upto her and asks 'Is she a new student?' the first time that i had class with her...and then later....'What was her name again?' when she wanted to ask me to explain somehting... sheesh, i'm sitting right there you know!!

Oh yeah, about that Lebanon trip..its from the 26th of December to the 29TH i think, thats just for the girls... and the boys have a Kenya trip, a few days before that.. around the 16TH... for 6 days or so... (there, i changed it, is everyone happy now???)

Alright i guess thats about all i can think of for now, till next monday, take care...xox

Has it already been a week???

Really? I can't believe it! WOW!!! That passed fast!

Anyway, yes as Avi said, I did go spend the weekend at his place. We met up at Eaton Center (shopping mall), Avi had to buy a jacket since it's getting cold and stuff... So after having lunch, we finally get Avi's jacket, and some other stuff that he needed as well, and after that went to his place, dumped all the stuff, and went to Paramount Theatres to watch a movie. So basically, on our way to the cinemas, we see this big group of people standing outside the Much Music studio (it's a Canadian music channel), screaming at the top of their lungs "COME OUTSIDE!!!" Who they were shouting to I don't know, but Much Music isn't some chota mota channel, it gives MTV competition, so must've been somebody important! But, unfortunately, we couldn't see who it was...

Anyway, we reach the cinemas, and buy tickets for 'Team America: World Police', and went for the movie at around 9:40pm.

Let me tell you, if you don't watch this movie, you're missing out! I don't remember the last time I laughed so hard!!! It was hilarious! And BTW, the movie makes fun of EVERYBODY, so it's not like it's pushing a political agenda or anything, but my God, it was funny!

I mean, if you want to see a movie making fun of a whole bunch of famous people, actors, politicians and the like, gory violence (puppet violence), hardcore sex (puppet sex), a Lamborghini limousine, and the ultimate theme song of all time, then this is the movie for you! Even if you don't want to watch all this, still watch the movie! BTW, is this movie being released there? I really want you guys to see it anyhow!

Anyway, then we guys went back to his room, listened to the cricket commentary on the radio for which he has a subscription, and finally, went to sleep at around 3 in the morning!

Woke up today, went shopping for stuff which I needed, the new Green Day album being one of them, listening to it right now in fact, and a jacket for myself, and other such stuff, anyway, no need to get into details about that...

Anyway, I got back home, went for dinner to the common room, since my Don was giving us dinner today.

I am DAMN TIRED right now... But this weekend has been good...

BTW, I'd just like to make a couple of things clear:
  1. I am not fasting. Not today atleast. How much I will be able to fast is something I don't know, but I guess I'll have to see how I am able to handle it.
  2. I have always eaten Halal food since I've come to this country. The Popeyes and KFC on campus are Halal, and so is the Indian restaurant. I eat Subway sometimes, because it's healthy, and that too only the Vegetarian or the Fish that they have.
  3. Even whenever I've eaten with Avi, I always have fish.

I'm telling you all this because I feel that you may think that I've been losing my religion ever since coming here. The fact is that I've become more conscious of it since coming here, since you have to make an EFFORT to keep things in mind here.

Anyway, just wanted to clear that out before people start getting angry at me and start cursing me from Dubai.

BTW, Avi paid for my jacket today, since I had gone over my daily spending limit on my Debit Card here. Without asking anything, Avi just whipped out his card and paid for it. Once again Avi, thanks a lot. It meant a lot to me, and as soon as I can figure how to transfer funds from one account to another, I'll do it!

So, that's about it from here, I'm really looking forward to going to sleep tonight!

Till next week,
Take care and have fun!

H'Lo !

Hey all!

Sorry sorry ! I was supposed to blog yesterday (Wednesday) but i was so tired, i fell asleep by 10:30pm.

Anywayyyyyyy, nice to know that the blog was all packed when i logged in.Got so much to read and so many pics to see..!

So...where shall i begin?......Oh YES! i saw Bride & Prejudice the other day..dont know if any of you have seen it yet...but trust me , its going to have mixed reactions...
For those of you who've read the book..the story in the movie wont make ANY sense at all..they've just picked up the important parts from the book and muddled them up here..BUT....if you're like my friend Nishath and love punjabi weddings with the colourful clothes, dances, loud noises and the likes...you will love it.

Nothing great going on around here, just that today maybe the start of Ramadan and as you all know..the beginning of Ramadan brings a whole new peaceful atmosphere in Dubai ( only till 8pm ,mind you! )
So all the streets and buildings have been lightened up for this religous festival...ALTHOUGH, there is been this very weird rumour going around here in the U.A.E which i dont think i should disclose publicly, but those of you aware of it..it seems to be getting more real by the day..
Anyway, our school timings !! now thats the best part of Dubai Gem ( apart from their millions of holidays we get) its from 8:20- 12:45...which is a VERY short time if you include our plenty of free classes everyday.

Oh and one thing, just wanted to know if anyone one you ( ahmed, avi , immy) are coming down this winter to Dubai ? Apparently Mrs.Richard ( Faisal, her name has no "s" in it !!! ) is planning this trip to Lebanon for 3 days and 2 nights which seems pretty exciting as by then, it will be snowing !! The only reason i seem to be interested is because this school here in Dubai "Al Mawakeb" has been taking their students to Lebanon for the past 3 years..their article came in Tabloid quite some time back and it looked liked SO MUCH OF FUN!
obviously, the best part is if you have your freinds coming along..ive never really travelled to another Middle Eastern country..

Oh oh...just last night i had gone to check out the NEW Burjuman with Ambreen..and all i can say is that these guys have a HELL lot of money to spend..the decor is fantastic (Ambreen, remember the staircase? :P)..the shops are catered to the utmost high class...and the crowd is the posh-est of all.

I dont seem to remeber anything else right now..Just wanted to fill you guys on whats happening here..Do write in soon..Sorry for taking your day Ahmed !
oh and just incase..

~! Ramadan Kareem !~

The Truth Is Out Here

Ok guys... here's the inside story..
Maria D' Silva is a sex goddess..
oh yea and abt the biryani thing... well the plan started like 2 years back.. back when fazlur and the goody goody maths class of grade 11 used to discuss food with him (only to skip studies).

Fazlur and the grade 11 class made lots of promises of having feasts and going to exotic restuarants to eat mouth watering quisines.. and god knows what else... but unfortuantely like
always those promises were meant to be broken... this story continued to grade 12 without any twists.. and also continued this year.. but wait this time there was a twist..

As u all know most of us.. except for the stupit Ibad are doing 3 subjects for A2. So that means lots of freeeeeeeee classes.. like take me for example.. I only hav the first three classes on Tuesdays.. that means I'm free after 10 AM. So this year there was a possibility of having feasts in the class!

So Fazlur and the maths boys... and the girl (Sheila) .. (apologies to Ambreen) started talking about bringing traditional food to school.. well I was told to bring Fish biryani... and others were told to get their own traditional food.. but nobody seemed to be carrying out this new task.. so naturally like always.. I had to be the first one to start this trend...

So I bought FISH BIRYANI WITH CHICKEN AND FRIED FISH AND FISH CURRY to school (only for the class) and everone in grade 13 had a blast... i made lots of teachers in the staff room jealous.. especiallly Mrs. Richards...

So the day after that.. to continue this trend Mohannad bought his own African Pulao.. some weird mix of rice.. but it was damn good.. (again it was only for grade 13)

The day after that Majid got his CHICKEN BIRYANI and wow.. that was delicious.. (grade 13)

Then came Mr. Fazlur's turn.. he personally made his own MUTTON BIRYANI.. it was so... TASSSSSSSTTTTTTTTTYYYYYYYYYYY! SUBHANALLAH.. u feel like praying nafil namaz for that biryani..! Anyway this time he invited Mr. Daniels, Anish and Aslam.. for the treat..

So there u have it.. the story of the biryani but thats not the end..
The food festival is stopped for the month of ramadan but will continue after that.. with Ali Abbas bringing his home made Nihari and Zubin bringing his Parsi food..

PS. All the food were 100% home made

God bless fooooooooood!

Firstly I'm impressed with Imran atlast he's able to think thanks to his baldness.. but It's not really a good idea.. i mean c'mon why should everybody post only once a week... yes yes I know Imran also did say that they are freee to post at any given day.. but hey take me for example.. u think I can stick to a schedule..? what are u nuts? no wait u are nuts!

According to me.. all of u should post everytime u come online! And please whenever something takes place please share with your friends...

Stick to your own day, would you?

Eh... whats all this... i sign in thinking 'hey, todays my day...' and i'm greeted by a picture of Lindsay Lohan! eating some kinda candy, that too!... i was going to put up a picture of like, Josh Hartnett, in reply but then i thought... i will not fall to that level! hmph! Stupid time difference... why cant Imran and Avi just get up in the middle of the night to post so that WE can see it at the right time?? huh?? cant do that much for your old friends eh guys??
Oh, well, anyway... not much has been happening... oh yeah, i gave my SAT the other day.. so please pray for me!!
Apart from that.. hey Avi, tough luck about India losing..i dont know if you actually saw the match but they DID play quite well towards the end... Pathan was pretty good... if only the target wasnt so huge...
Okay, since everyone seems to be telling us abut their day, even if it IS just details about cleaning their rooms and all... i guess i should too... not much to say about today... oh wait.. its open evening in Dubai Gem!.. so school gets off at 1.15 or something, and then all the prefects have to be back again at 4.30 to deal with all the parents!!... but since i'm not a prefect, i dont have to!! hahaha!!... i can just sleeeeeep at home!!!!
Yup, thats about it i guess... oh, i went to Lamiyahs house yesterday, we went to this new mall thats opened opposite her place...Reef Mall-its alright, mosta the stuff isnt actually open yet... though they have a Splash and a Lifestyle and all that so thats kewl... oh and she has some nice pics of the whole T.G.I.F lunch thing... all of us looking nice and happy (that imran, avi, and ahmed are leaving?!)... the funniest thing is though that theres a glass of bright blue ELECTRIC LEMONADE infront of half the people!!... hahaha... 200 dirhams, was it??... thats just hilarious... and hey, dont look at me like that, i only had a diet coke...
Alright then, i should get going now... so till next Monday, take care, xox!.. and btw, who's turn is it tomorrow?

It's Sunday, and it's my turn!

She has beautiful eye(s)! Posted by Hello

I'm really sorry I didn't post earlier, but as you shall see, I was a bit busy...
So in the form of an apology, I'm posting Lindsay Lohan's picture, because, well, she's just... incredible is the word!!!
So the guys can sit and stare, like I usually find myself doing, and feel happy, and the girls can...work harder to look like her I guess...! So this way, everybody benefits!

So, it's still 9:17pm here, so technically it's still Sunday!

So, today was supposed to be a day of work for me, as in Academic work, instead I got so involved in other work, that I think I'll sit and do my work now! So basically, my day went like this...

Woke up in the morning...okay just before the afternoon, but technically it was still morning...okay I'll stop all this 'technically' talk.

So, today was the day I wash all my bedsheets, pillow covers, towels etc... So, that's what I did, but some idiots hadn't emptied the dryers, so I had to keep running up and down (we have the laundry room on the ground floor, and I'm on the 2nd floor), so that's how I basically spent my afternoon. After I finally got the damn things dried, I came up and changed my sheets and pillow covers. That took me time, as you must understand, this is the first time I'm doing something like this in my life!

BTW, I had broken the bulb of my bed-side lamp a couple of weeks ago, so that was lying on the floor for some time, and I kept forgetting to buy a bulb and fixing the thing, so today I did that, after setting up my bed with new crisp sheets! Ooh, I'll have fun sleeping tonight! It's been ages since I slept on something clean!

After that, I got this sudden bug to clean everything in the room, and finally arrange everything so that it's easier to work. So I spent the entire evening, till about now, dusting and wiping and re-arranging things, when I suddenly realised that about two hours back the 'Dons' Autumn Family Dinner' took place on the first floor, since tomorrow's Thanksgiving and everything. Damn! Anyway, I went and got something from Subway, and on my way back I see people still going for the dinner, and I was like...'DAMN!' But anyway, I've got work to do, and I'm my back is aching quite a bit.

Anyway, so today I actually experienced, for the first time in my life, what exactly it is to keep a house (or atleast a room) clean. Just have to do the vacuumming, but I'll do that tomorrow... Then I'll be really happy!

Damn, it's still early here, I think I'll retire early tonight, read my book for a while, have dinner, stuff like that... Jeez, my back hurts...

BTW, with all this sudden kick I've got about keeping things clean, I've decided to become vegetarian, not strict of course, but atleast like for the majority of the week. I really need to start excersising as well, it's been ages since I did any physical activity! So, those are my plans, lets see how far I'm able to carry them out! A little word of encouragement wouldn't go to waste!

Anyway people, I know you'll probably be fuming that you're going to read this on Monday, but I'm sorry, just got involved in stuff, and the whole time difference, understand please...!

So, with that my friends, I shall take my leave, I have only about 13 minutes of battery left on the laptop, so I'll re-charge it now...

Till next Sunday,
Take care and have fun!

And remember,

Well...

Well today marks my debut in this new idea developed by imran...
Since i dont have anything important to say, lemme just describe my day for you..
i woke up at 11:30 today (being a weekend here) and sat to study Astronomy... ok at this point you guys must be wondering why in the world did i take astronomy if i plan to major in finance????
Well the answer is quite simple... i took the course to boost my GPA as ive heard its an easy course and i had to get some extra credits. Well the mid-term is on thursday and belive me it isnt looking very easy now...
so i was studying that for a while after which i was chatting/webcaming with imran for quite some time online since we seem to be too bzy to actually meet up...
Then i went to my friends place and we have to submit an assignment on tuesday so we were workin on that...although we ended up spending more time playing cricket than workin on the assignment...i dunno how we are gonna complete it...
Anyways then i came back home and here i am...
Its 9:30 pm right now and in a cpl of hours the india-australia match is going to begin... for those of you who are following the match please join me in prayers as god is the only one who can save india now...
Till then,
Take care
and god-speed.

An Idea I had...

Hey guys, I had an idea. Since there are 7 of us who are members of the blog, I thought that each of us could pick one day of the week, and write something on that particular day, every week. So this way, everyone gets to post, and the blog will be updated every single day!

If everyone is in assent to this little idea, we can take it forward. Just comment YES or NO to this post, and we'll count and see which gets more votes.

If YES, then each of you can choose whichever day it is you want to write on. For the record, I'm choosing Sunday. So that means that on Sunday, I will have to write something on the blog. When everybody gets to read it is another thing, but at some point on a Sunday, I shall write something on the blog.

So, is everyone up for this? A blog is supposed to be updated every day, not like what we do. Ofcourse, you're free to write stuff if something important comes up, but please, this way you HAVE to write stuff, no matter what, however busy you may be, so everybody gets to write, and more importantly, the blog is updated.

So, vote and choose.

Till next time,
Take care and have fun!

BOOK REVIEW - The devil's alternative

Book name: The devil's alternative
Author: Frederick Forsyth
Genre: Political Thriller/ suspense
Recommended to me by: Dhiraj Sajnani (i have to thank him for this)

For the purpose of flexibility, i will rate this review and my future ones on a scale of 10.

Well, this book was highly recommended to me by the Dhiraj who said that this was his favourite book. After reading it, i'm not surprised.

The plot of the book is something that i would rather not reveal in this review as it would spoil it for you guys. This is because until half way through the book i did not know the plot myself. Infact there were several sub-plots that seemed to be heading in no common direction. The way these sub-plots come together midway through is a work of art itself.

The climax of the book is one of the best i have ever read and it will take the reader completely by surprise. Also, the manner in which the climax is bought to our attention is such that i have never read before.

To be honest with you, i had never read nor heard of any of Frederick Forsyth's books before. After reading this one, im sure that will change.

My rating: 9.5/10 (no book is a perfect 10. this is about as close as it gets)
