Riiiiight... Well I haven't been posting for a long time.. and I have pretty good reasons for that..
Firstly.. I wanted to see Abeera post a Joke and tell us all TO Read It Out Loud
Secondly... I wanted Ahmed to indirectly post some of his pictures and to finally post..
And then well I wanted Shahlini to ask Ibad if he can be promoted to the Jedi Rank.. just because he liked his stupit "Bad Habits Die Hard" comment..

Oh and last but not the least... my midterms were going on.. and well I still have a couple of exams to go..
The studies here have grabbed me by the balls...(Girls it means.. that the studies are challenging)
Well the worst day for me is Monday and Thursday. On every alternate thursdays I have classes from 8.30 AM to 5.30 Pm without a single break.
The weather here is getting cold everyday.. although today was sunny.. Its supposed to hit 0 degrees in a few days.. COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL (get the joke!?)

The best part for me during weekdays are the Iftars.. where I get together with around 200 ppl and break fast.. It really amazing.. Everbody refers to me as brother.. Oh yes we break our fasts with our "sisters".. Most of them wear Hijab.. which does "not" remind me of Ambreen.
And well we get like Biryani, Chicken Tikka.. and lots of other "proper" food for Iftar.. Believe me when you are tasting Biryani so far from home.. it tastes like roses drenched in sugary milk with extra toppings.. and it smells like Hermoine after she has a long hot shower.. WAH!

And to tell you the truth.. This place is creepy.. I got stung by a Bee the other day for the First time in my life.. It stung me behind my neck.. and oh god.. it felt like a small volcano erupting..
Anyway creepy animals love my place I guess.. like yesterday I saw this huge Coackroach/Grasshopper.. on my ankle.. and well in the afternoon.. I saw a Spider hiding in my blanket.. now I wanted to scream.. get the pif paf and destroy it.. but I didnt.. cause there was a girl in my room.. and I didn't want to show her that I am scared.. (Its my ego!)

Ahh..well.. Guess what.. today was the longest day in my life.. It was 25 hours long.. Anyway I had to turn my watches back 1 hour at around 2AM.. for some "dayling savings thingy"
It doesn;t really feel long though.. anyway its kinda cool doing that..
Its 2 AM NOW! Oh my god.. It was 2 AM 1 hour back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So anything new happened in Dubai? Any new mall caught fire?

And well I haven not chatted with anyone of you for a long time.. (Except for Avinash and Ibad with who I usually have webcam conversations... he keeps telling me how much he misses Fazlur.. and how Fazlur used to engage in ----------- with him while he was supposed to be tutoring him.. believe me the details are too nasty))

Well again I have my reasons not chatting with you guys..

In the 3rd year, publik akseptanse of the new spelling kan be expekted to reach the stage where more komplikated changes are possible. Governments will encourage the removal of double letters which have always ben a deterent to akurate speling. Also, al wil agre that the horibl mes of the silent "e" in the languag is disgrasful and it should go away.

now now..I hear a lot of uproar and protests..but his comment is the closest to the truth.

We had an iftar party the other day at Lamiyah's..and rumour has it..that although Madiha came in with Fahad , her prom date..she seemed to be enjoying herself more when she danced with our blogger, Fayyal..

Fahad just came in with Madiha..and throughout the rest of the party he stayed as far away from Madz as he could..while Madiha certainly didnt mind as she had eyes for someone else.

Now just look at this stale news..tsk tsk..something which happened 3 whole years ago..comes into light now...

Now don't think, Im making this up. Ive got this info from reliable sources.While people like Ambreen and myself were too busy enjoying ourselves in the prom. There were other girls who preferred to just observe...Hmm..the quiet ones..are the most dangerous ones eh?

Umm...Nothing new to report,except the earthquake in Kashmir and Islamabad(death toll:100'000!)and the bird flu epidemic...

Therez a lot of charity work going on here to help the earthquake survivors.Truckloadz of stuff have been sent,but i think,barely half the stuff has reached the victems.

About the bird flu epidemic...Letz just pray that we dont catch the bug

CRAZY WEEK

hey all....as u can tell from the title of this blog, this week so far has been insane....seriouly its like going to school all over again....sure the parties are more intense, but the workload already is crazy...having tests next week....ugh....its only the 3rd week and already the bastards are setting test dates....but its not all work though....been going out almost everynight....students get free entrances everywhere wich is a good thing....been to most of the clubs here....same music everywhere, and drunk people....the best thing is that im one of the only sober ones so i get to see or rather REMEMBER the stupid things people had done the previous night...amazing how differently people behave when theyr drunk....funny....anyway....o thers this really cool rule here with regards to the pool games....if you get 7 balled (clear the table with all your opponents balls on the table) the loser has to do a quad run i.e run butt naked around the quadrangle.....wev had like 4 of em already....luckily enough I havnt been one of them...well thats about all the update i have for you right now...later

Okay so last nightwas like really freaky. We'd been told to expect a rebound of the same magnitude or more within 48 hours, and tht we should either remain outdoors or on lower floors. Damn i didnt realise how serious it was till i spoke to my friends whos family's are in Islamabad... they actually know people who were caught up in this whole thing... theyres this building that collapsed and they all know someone or the other in it... some guy from their school died... and other peoples entire familys are missing.. it was the weekend so apparently a group of girls were sleeping over at someones place... and they wake the next morning to find out theyre familys gone, imagine. another friend of mine, his mamus still missing too. now we're getting news that so-and-so's brother was taken out dead from the rubble, things liek that, its really quite scary. There was a couple of aftershocks last night too, no one could sleep... i had to like gather the guts to come upstairs to the computer lab, coz i swear i'm so freaked right now!! 48 hours arent even up yet... last night noone slept and then finally when it was like 8 inthe morning and we cudnt take it we went to our dorms... ppl on the 3rd floor upwards were evacuated and hadta sleep in our common rooms on the lower floors.
Its so weird, i hear abt natural disasters on the news and u feel sad and u eventually get over it.. but when ur in the middle of it its jus freaky!... i mean this is happening to ppl i KNOW, be it indirectly, but still. and the footage they're showing on tcv, its jus sooo bad, i really didnt think at the time i was giving my exam tht it was going to be this serious.
the absolute worst thing was when one guy told me he called his friend and she said she was actually IN the rubble, like trapped. hes like she was hysterical....said things like i duno if i'll ever see my family again... and they havnt had new on her since. last night it rained in islamabad,.... some hail as well i think... and ppl are saying you could hear ppl screaming from under the rubble. oh god.
You guys, please pray for everyone. pray tht the ppl who are missing are still safe, no matter what their chances seem like right now...

A sign of things to come?

Today, 8th October (which holds alot of significance- Abeera, tell u later;), i had not one but TWO midterms... so the weekend was half ruined.... spent all day yesterday and the day before studying...but the point of this post is not to bore you with my studious activities, but rather...
well you see, we're sitting there in the hall... i'm done with my paper, last 5 minutes left... n i'm getting really annoyed at the guy behind me coz hes like constantly shaking his leg and its hitting the backof my chair... or atleast thts wht it felt like... so i glance back at him to tell him to stop but... hes not doing anything... so i'm thinking, ok, weird.... why the heck is my whole seat n desk shaking then? and then it got more intense... and then everyone jus stopped and looked up questioningly... and then... any guesses?
well bascially my first ever exam in lums ended in an EARTHQUAKE!!!! dude... tht wuz jus freaky and weird and scary all in one... everyones sort of like..ummm shud we get up n leave? shud we keep sitting here n looking around like we duno whats going on? coz technically we're in an exam hall and we cant leave... it wuz funny though, coz i bet lotsa ppl cheated in those two mintues... all the invigilators were jus like confused n trying to calm ppl down n ppl kept going "maybe we shud leave, for like, safety reasons! screw computer science!"...
Anyway, so i t was finaly over in like..i duno..more than a minute... which is a long time for the ground ur standing on to be shaking!! it wuz jus odd. :S.... when i left my mamu called from islamabad n hes like tht was a 7.5 earthquake there and there was quite a bit of damage...
Apparently now there are aftershocks predicted... hopefully everything will be fine coz i wana go n sleep now but i duno if its safe to be indoors!!!... anyway... take care people... n wish me luck for my papers!!

Hello ppl...

Yea i know it's been a long time since i posted but i've been rather busy this semester...

Anyways, this is thanksgiving weekend so i get 3 days off and plenty of time to catch up on things that i have fallen behind on (i.e the blog...and some work ofcourse)...

Well nothing really of interest has been happening here except that its getting rather cold since the winter is approaching...

I went for an iftar thing yesterday on my campus and that was quite a lot of fun...got to have some chicken biryani after a long time...

I will be coming to Dubai in December but i don't know how long ill be staying as i need to attend a couple of weddings in Bombay...

Btw, do anyone of you know a girl called 'fallen' (I don't know if that's the real spelling but that's how her name is pronounced anyways). Cause she says that she knows some people from dubai gem...

Anyways, nothing much more to report from here...

Snake bursts after gobbling gator

An unusual clash between a 6-foot (1.8m) alligator and a 13-foot (3.9m) python has left two of the deadliest predators dead in Florida's swamps.

The Burmese python tried to swallow its fearsome rival whole but then exploded.

The python's remains with the victim's tail protruding from its burst midsection were found last week. The head of the python was missing. (bbcnews.com)

Well Well Well...

Everyone seems to be having some kind of a scary tale to narrate,and well Faisal, you're scary enough, so dont bother.

Where is Avi? I wanted to ask him something. See the thing is, there's this girl I know who also studies in Uni of Tronnow,who told me the other day that she gets FREE Baskin Robbins in her uni whenever she likes..I dont believe her,so could you please confirm ?

Since none of you are in Dubai,I thought why not give you all some happenings around here..So i picked up three.One is extremely hilarious,the other extremely sad and the third, is good.


The Sad :
This really sucks man..As much as we hear such stuff abroad,its happened here.
Apparently a mother took her 3 year old daughter shopping, in Naif Souq last week, as she was starting her first day of nursery the next day.Being it a crowded place on Friday,the mother was browsing through a rack of clothes thinking her girl was right behind her,when she turned around and the girl was nowhere to be found. She was lost. Just like that.
The police were called,investigations were done,but there was just no clue of her anywhere. For 6 whole days,she wasnt found.
The whole of Dubai was in a shock. nothing like that had ever happened before.The mother was seen loitering around tht area everyday. Letters poured in,Lost posters were stuck up,mobile nos were given incase she was found.but nothing.zilch.
When exactly one week later.she was found naked and dead on the beach. Her face was so distorted,she was only recognised by the gold earrings she wore.
Imagine....from Naif Souq to the beach.
Can you imagine what the girl mustve gone through? and even worse, her mother?

That's life.

The Good :

FINALLY the Govenrment of Dubai has decided to taking action agaisnt all the companies not paying workers on time. I mean,the fact that all the infrastructure in Dubai has been built by them,and in return they are given horrible living conditions,no wages and treated like crap,it was time U.A.E did something.And they did something,ONLY after a certain company's workers had a HUGE strike on Sheikh Zayed road at 9am last week. There is so much happening around here after the rent & fuel hike.U.A.E is going mad.All of a sudden Private schools are being investigated, with so many of them closing down.People are literally dying of the high rents and the TRAFFIC? LORD ! if it could get ANY worse.it has. It's a sin to even go out! Plus with the GITEX going on,you cant imagine.

The Funny :

Okay, apparently on one of the days during the GITEX at Airport-expo David Beckham was spotted. People went mad.There was a huge crowd.Word spread, Gitex got packed and 'David Beckham' was in need of a body guard.Security got tight.People got hauled away and Canon Camera created ripples.
I thought WoW, David Bekham at the Gitex..mustve been awesome. But then I thought,why the heck would a millionairre come all the way to Dubai for a couple of cheap electronics?
and the next day, 7 days published "his" photograph.
I cant tell you HOW much i laughed. David Beckham ? That guy was a mixutre of Govinda and Elton John!
I'll try to scan and send it.

But seriously, people in Dubai are losing it.
