Hello hello,

First of all sorry about that looong absence from the blog. The past 4 weeks have gone by sooo quick, everyday i'd sit and think i'm going to blog today, but somehow never got down to it. Been having quizzes all the time, and now i have midterms from next week..just imagine... i just got here!!... anywayyy soo looks like everyones settling huh... good thing we have the blog... and btw where are Shahlan and Ahmed?

The whole of last week it was someones birthday everyday. and apparently all the 'karachi people' have this lil tradition of basically 'egging' the guy/girl whos bday it is... so at 12 midnite on the dot... theyre all out in full force with eggs, ketchup, shaving cream, flour, guava juice, basically anything gross/stinky/yuk.... soooo we're like yeahhhh um, we're gona go now!... lol... some ppl are a *lil* weird... jus a lil....when it was my roomate(i.e. normal person)'s bday we jus cut cake and had it and yeah. thats abt it... how exciting huh? When we got to the bastketball court (where the cake was), someone realised theres no knife, so i had to run back to the room (other end of the world) and get it... and then eventually walk back after the whole hting with a dirty knife, in the middle of the night,riiight now tht wuz odd...

Oh yeah btw... the other day we were walking to this icecream place near uni... like a group of 4-5 of us... n one guy was on his phone the whole time n kept walking far away from us... i dunno, personal conversation or sumthin... so neway... hes like walking about 20-30 feet behind us... and suddenly hes like.... OYE!! YOU GUYSS!!! n we all turn around... n hes like MY PHONE JUS GOT STOLEN!!... we're like haha yeah whatever... n he's like I'M SERIOUS!! THEY HAD A GUN!!... omg.. we were like huh??? wht the heck? turns out some guys pulled up next to him on a bike n asked for his phone... n when he dint giv it they put a gun to his head... and all this happened like right behind us!! it was scary... me n sania r jus like oh-kayyy so we're jus gona stop going out now:S...

anyway... oh well... i should get going... oh yeah abt the stupid heading of this post.... the other day we were walking back to the room n this girls walking towards us... looking very determined, and like walking in this very, well, determined, yet extreeemely funny way... arms swinging wildly at her sides... with that 'i'm-looking-for-something-very-important' look... comes upto me and asks if i've seen some friends of hers around... so anyway she goes n then one of the girls walking with us is like... um... whats with the George of the Jungle walk... n at that moment it jus seemed hilarious... so we've been on about the 'George' thing for a while... so, um, yeah... sorry if tht was a bit lame:s...

A nice day at McMaster!

Before I start, I'd just like to say that what happened to Ebaad was the scariest thing that I have ever heard. It feels a little different when it happens to somebody you know... I hope you're okay dude, and please be careful. I know this will be a lesson to all of us.

Fine, now this Friday, Avi and I went down to McMaster to visit Faisal and Lokesh! We both hadn't seen them since they came to Canada, and we wanted to see how they were getting along, so we decided to visit them this Friday.

After travelling by bus for about 1.5 hours, we finally reached Hamilton, and somehow made our way to McMaster. The place is really nice, and so is their residence. So we meet Lokesh and Faisal, and they showed us around for a bit. Finally, we got something to eat, and then left for Downtown Hamilton, since Lokesh's cousin Hiten was coming to visit as well. So we went to pick him up, and made our way back to McMaster.

Once there, we decided to play some table-tennis, but in the end, Hiten was the only guy who played table-tennis, and the rest of us played pool with a broken cue. We watched some T.V., played a little foosball, and finally went to the Piano Room where Lokesh was sitting with his friend Cornell (from St. Mary's). Finally Avi, Faisal and I thought we'd go back to the apartment and chat there.

About an hour or so later, Lokesh and Hiten came back, and we guys sat around chatting for a while, and finally we fell asleep.

I apparently snored throughout the night, so Hiten and Avi didn't get much sleep. I really didn't know I snored.

Anyway, the next morning we guys had breakfast with Cornell, and finally set off from there at around 3:30pm.

All in all, a nice 2 days spent at McMaster. Thanks Faisal and Lokesh, for showing us such a nice time!

Scariest experience of my life!!!!

The most insanely scary thing happened to me yesterday...it was around 7:00pm local time when my aunt walks into my room and tells me she has this travel card thing thats valid for the whole day....so i decide to go take a bus to piccadilly circus...i get onto the bus round about 7:20 and reach there around 8:00....i walk around for a round about an hour or so and then find my way into this alley way type thing...this guy comes up to me and asks me if i could help him and his friends to push their broken down car to a curb....so i agree...when we get to the car, the other two guys, who were black i might add, ask me for money....i thought they wanted some change....so i dig into my pocket and pull out a couple of pounds....then they ask for my wallet....when i ask them why, all three of them pull out butterfly knives!!!!! at this point my hearts in my throat and im praying to god they dont kill me!!!i take out my wallet, where i had like 240 pounds and 50 euros....they take it all, get into the car, and drive off!!!!THAT WAS ALL MY SAVINGS!!!!!!!!!AAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.....can u believe it...so anyway i run to the nearest bus station, get into a bus and make my way home....
guys ive never been so afraid in my LIFE....you know you think about what itl be like if something like this ever happend to you, and you think "ill kick theyr arse before i give up my money" but man, when it ACTUALLY happens, all macho-ism is forgotten!!!!...
anyway thank god im still alive...

i dont know why my phone was off actually..a few others complained as well...its the problem with my cell..the battery gets pretty low so it goes off..and then i get lazy....and then i dont know...but Good Luck for your uni ! dont be nervous,always remember that there will be many others like you. so chill and keep warm !

helloooooooooooooo ppl....
i have finally reached london.....and its flipping cold here!!!!truns out i arrived on the coldest day of the month....i always end up in these dicky situations dont i!!!
and thats not the end of it either....the problems started from dubai airport itself....got myself these pair of shoes that have some kind of metal in them....and since theyr really heavy my mum insisted that i wear em to the airport instead of packing them....and so i did to my utter despair....had to take em off 4 times...and the 5th time i didnt have em on cos i didnt bother...so basically i had to endure stares from everyone cos i was walking barefoot all over the airport!!!the flight here was okay though...realy comfy....but right when everything was starting to go smoothly, i get stopped at Heathrow randomly and get asked to give like a medical exam thing....turns out the brits are a bit paranoid about tuberculosis...they take a chest X-ray, and im bloody praying to god tht they dont pick up any nicotine and ask me to take the next available flight out to dubai!!!so im sitting at the medical center for round about 40 minutes for the doc to arrive, and i REALY need to pee!!!i take my case up wid the nurse and guess what, she lets me leave just like that....PHEW.....so that is my dukh bhari kahani(though now tht i read over it, it doesnt sound so dukhi)
anyway im joining uni on the 25th...its like an hour and a half from london...cant wait...missing home like crazy though...realy nervous bout the whole thing...okay im gonna jet now....will post in a couple of days....later

PS: abeera why the hell is your fone always off....wanted to meet up before i left but no! madam had to keep her phone off!!!!!

Hello, hello, how is everyone??
Well i'm finally here, and whats the first thing i do? BLOG! see how dedicated i am... anyway so.. well i'm sitting here in the computer lab right now, and it feels so weird... i'm here! woah.. the place is great, atleast so far... orientations tomorrow, so i'llhave a more interesting update then i guess... my roomate is this girl i know from dubai so thts all good... set up my room yesterday...
I was in karachi before this... tht was really hectic,meeting ppl and all..eating out... oh god, the only entertainment for ppl here is eating!! its crazy!! Reached lahore a couple of days ago..for thsoe of you who dontk now, its the first time i'v been here so i was pretty anxious, but its actually quite nice... the slightly 'upmarket' areas are as good ad anywhere in dubai really... roads and all that,..then theres the inner city where u wana avoid going!! so far its all good though, i was worried whether i'd adjust or not but i think i'll be able to....
by the way, my number is 0092 321-23 24 824.... for now my dads using it but i'll have it from the 6th onward i think so u all better mesg me then!!
anyway, i gtg now... gona have a look around the place, my friends sister (whos already studying here) is givin me a lil tour so... cya all later!!...tc
