Ambreen's week

List of things Ambreen has done lately:

1. Met Fahad. Ambreen and Fahad are now both fat.

2. Experienced extreme fog in which she played catch, almost got lost, was unable to see the other side of the road and thus got the shock of her life when a friend screamed out 'hey ambreen' from the other side of the pavement.

3. Lost all hope of ever passing calculus 2

4. Experienced her first ever 'undeserving grade', as a result of a low class mean. Stupid people. Stupid low aggregate. Stupid relative marking. Stupid system.

5. Made absolutely no use of her 3 day weekend for the whole of this quarter. Used this ample time to fool around and 'plan' to study instead of actually studying itself.

6. Saw The Exorcism of Emily Rose- freaky. Saw Flightplan- had potential but just got weird in the end. Saw Harry Potter 4- a little disappointing. The book was better in my imagination (read: Cedric was cuter in my head).

7. um. right. listing things like this makes me feel like i havnt done much at all:S. i swear theres more, but i'm kinda sleepy now, soooo till next time... take care!

Hello.. everyone..
Great! Exams over.. always during exams I always look forward to the happy days...
Alas.. this ain't Dubai..
Anyway so all my uni friends have gone back to their respective homes..
Avi and Lokesh have gone to dubai..
Great...

Right now I'm staying at my Hamilton Uncles' place.. gonna head towards Ottawa in a few days to stay with my Ottawa uncle.. Most probably I'd head towards Toronto later to meet the Morpheus.. and celebrate new years with him..

Thats a lot of travelling in 11 days..

So how are u guys? None of you cared to know if I'm still alive or not..
Wow.. what great friends u all are..

Anyway.. I'm getting used to the snow.. but not the wind.. The Wind is the killer here..
It hits me like a stone.. and takes my breath away all the time..
I dnt mind the snow.. I bloody mind the god damn wind..

Adding to my insomnia...

Okay, for some wierd reason i havnt been able to sleep at all for the past 2 days... it takes me AGES to fall asleep and by the time i do, its already time to wake up. It sucks!

The worst was last night though... I'd been trying to sleep since like 1.20.. i messaged my friend at around...2.40 i think, saying omg, i sooo cannot sleep, etc... so he called me back, and we're talking for about...15 mins or sumthin right... and then my roomate came back, so i'm talking to her while this guy is on hold on the phone... then someone came to our door, this girl from nextdoor, Maha... so we'r talking to her... and then SUDDENLY the guy on the phone starts SCREAMING..."EARTHHHQUAKE!!!! GET OUT!!!!! EAAAAARTHQUAAAAKE!!!" I'm like whaaaa.. huh?... n i was lying down so i cant say i felt sumthin but... when i sat up for a bout a second i felt a weird sort of nudge-ey feeling. i cant describe it but it was just weird...

okay, so i have this guy screaming on the phone, and girls screaming in the passage outside..i jumped out of bed, my roomate and i are like ummm...uhhhh.... and we jus grabbed shawls and ran outside... infact SHE grabbed a shawl, i just ran:S... in about 30 seconds or sumthin everyone was standing outside the dorm.. apparently the girls on higher floors were like they felt a proper tremor, desks and doors shaking, all that stuff...

Anyway, so after a bit we went back in, put in the TV.. they were like its the biggest aftershock yet, apparently 6.7... we'r liek riiight.. never know what to expect! it was just freaky!
Whats worse was it was freeing outside n i was just in a tanktop and a jacket... caught a baaaad chill..ugh...

oh well, so i was planning to blog today anyway, I guess i ended up with more to say than i thoguht i would!!... Till next time, take care...

anyways, exams have descended upon some of us and the next couple of weeks are not gonna be pretty...

After my exams, i will be coming to dubai but i still don't know when or for how long as i haven't confirmed my tickets yet...

'Tis the season to be jolly..

Firstly, welcome to our blog Fahad..our blog needed a bit of wit.
We've got lameness, ignorance and beauty...but just not wit :)

Before I forget,that pic of avi and fayyal was cute..we know uve got a very sexy figure fayyal and Avi the only thing that comes to mind is : in pao ko zameen pe math rakhye ga,mele ho jayenge..(famous hindi film dailogue,incase anyone didnt know)

Ski in Dubai is the hottest attraction down here..

There was this awesome centrespread picture of snow in Dubai,showing all the major buildings on Sheikh Zayed Road having thier peaks tipped in snow...it was SO realistic! wow..

Been taking a break from work since mid november,so relaxed quite a bit..now its back to work in another company dealing in properties etc..

Had a whole lot of fun with ambreen in town..spent the day at nishaths and no outing is complete at her place unless we dont go for coffee..had BRRRRRRistaaa, where the employees love listening to old Songs..we heard Micheal Jackson,Enrique,and No Mercy after SOO long, bringing in old memories..

Anyway,Hope all of you are good.

Airport blues

hello hello.. i'm at the aiport heading from dubai to lahore and my flights just been delayed... sigh. its so boring to travel alone!! and to think i could have easily woken up 2 hours later instead of at 6 A.M!!! oh well.. sooo anyway, dubai was good fun this time. last time i was here on eid, it seemed shorter, coz of the 3 days of eid and family stuff and all that. but i got to see everyone i wanted this time around (abeera: or did i?;)... and i dunt know when i'm coming back again, most prolly in april or summer or sumthin.. so it'll be a while

aww. i love my city:(!!

anyway. good to see everyones been a bit more active on blog. i know wht u mean, imran, sometimes theres really nothin to post coz nothin interesting has happened so i guess we need a lil break from blog now and then. but yeah, where are ahmed and ebaad? its been a while. i mean, even SHAHLANS been posting, for gods sake!!

okay well i'm off. i guess i'll go get something to eat. i have a bad feeling the flight is gonna be delayed for longer coz lahore is realllyyy foggy these days. damn!! the dreaded 'i-had-to-wait-at-the-airport-all-day' story:-S...

Hello everybody!

Long time eh? Yes, I know I haven't been as frequently posting on the blog as I usually do, but I've been a little busy, and, well, to tell you the truth, I didn't have anything particularly interesting to post.

So, how is everybody? First off, let me welcome Fahad to our beloved Blog. Nice to have you on board buddy!

Shahlan, I couldn't believe you remembered that 'Hey man, why so glum?' dialogue after all this time! I had forgotten it myself! Ah, the memories, eh?

Us people here in Canada have been in touch pretty frequently. Avi and I went over to Faisal and Loki's place some time back, and had good time. We guys saw the new Harry Potter movie too, in case you are wondering. Avi and Faisal didn't like it; I however, thought it was not that bad. As a movie it seems to work, but if you compare it to the book, then obviously, it's not as good.

What else? Hopefully everybody is happy and doing whatever it is they are doing. It was nice to hear Abeera talk about how weird it felt to enter Dubai Gem as an ex-student. I felt the same way last year. It felt even weirder for me as you people were still in school. I kept wondering, 'I should be in class, what am I doing?’

But that's in the past now.

Ambreen, haven't been in touch with you for a while now, so I'm hoping you're okay. Judging by your comment on Fahad's post, I'm assuming you're good. Nice to know that you are going to be in Dubai for the winter.

Speaking of that, I won't be able to make it to Dubai this winter, and neither will Faisal, to the best of my knowledge. I think Avi will be in town for a couple of days, but then he leaves for Bombay.

As for me, well, I shall spend Christmas and New Year's here, hopefully with Faisal! We'll be giving each other company, so that we don't get too homesick. At least, that's the plan for now!

Ebaad! Where are you man? We even wished you for your birthday, but you didn't seem to show. I can only guess you're having a blast that you've got no time for old friends! Just the occasional 'Hello' is all I ask!

Ahmed! You're another one! You hibernate for months at a time, and then show up all of a sudden! Please try and be a little more frequent! Will you be going to Dubai for the winter? If you are, good for you!

By the way Fahad, I appreciate the fact that you like my nicks; however I must confess, they aren't original! I get them off the net!

We're having elections in on 23rd January, and I'm talking National Elections, in case anybody's interested in Canadian politics.

Winter has pretty much set in. Temperatures hover around the 0 degrees mark. My exams, along with everybody else’s I suspect, will start this week. Best of luck to all of you guys!

And a very very very late eid mubarak!And while I'm at it,happy dubai national day too,even Though most of you don't even stay in Dubai anymore and wouldn't give a shit.

OK.First of all guys,sorry for not staying in touch,but every day I get the feeling that my Internet connection keeps getting slower and slower and slower and slower AND EVEN MORE DAMN SLOWER!!!!!

Why can't someone just bomb etisalat!?!?

Anyways,the point is that by the time my browzer opens up and loads,2 or 3 centurys pass By AND I have about a million viruses on my PC interfering with that too,so I don't come to the Blog that often.

Don't know much about whats going on,but hope all you guys are ok and having fun
